Brass Tacks 2007 Riesling, Monterey

Vintage Notes
The grapes were sourced from vineyards in the Santa Lucia Highlands AVA of Monterey County, where high winds and bay fog create one of the longest growing seasons in the world, ideal for cool-climate grapes. The long growing season allows the grapes a longer maturation time and development of true varietal characteristics. The wine was fermented in stainless steel and chilled before fermentation was complete, allowing the wine to retain a small amount of residual sugar.

Tasting Notes
Brass Tacks Riesling offers crisp clean notes of fresh peach, honey and apricot with mineral qualities and bright acidity.

90 points - Editor's Choice
A beautiful Riesling, perfect for a cocktail or with a wide range of fare. Bone dry and richly acidic, it shows true varietal flavors of citrus, honeysuckle, diesel or lighter fluid, minerals and gardenia flower. This is is a wine that sommeliers should scoop up, but only 450 cases were produced.
